Seriously, save your money.
On a recent trip to Kalamazoo, Michigan, George and I wanted a simple lunch. We thought we couldn’t go wrong at a “gourmet sandwich” shop who’s slogan is “tasting is believing.” Well, we were wrong. The “vegetarian” options were limited to a cheese sandwich with mayo, avocado spread, lettuce, tomato and sprouts on mediocre bread and an even-more-cheese sandwich on the same bread. It wasn’t that the sandwich was bad: it just wasn’t good. And the price wasn’t at all justified. Given an option, we’d suggest you skip Jimmy John’s. Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches is a franchise restaurant.
One positive… if you must eat at Jimmy John’s, the chips are pretty good.

I think it all depends on how you get the sandwich. Their french bread is absolutely amazing. I am a vegetarian, new to California, and the veggie sandwich from JJ’s is one of the things I miss most living here. I always got it with extra extra veggies, easy on the mayo and cheese, and they would load it to the gills with lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Pretty great sandwich for a very small amount of cash.

Amanda,
Thank you for your comment! Perhaps the location that we ate at was just not up to JJ’s standards. George and I will certainly give JJ’s another chance if we find ourselves back east looking for a sandwich.
